If Not Us Then Who – photo exhibitions and roving film festival roadshows

New_Yorka

Over the past months the If Not Us Then Who/Handcrafted team have been busy showing the If Not Us Then Who project to audiences in New York and Lima; and are now preparing for a multi-island trip to Indonesia. The project was launched at Corner Pop Up Shop gallery space in September during the UN Climate Summit in New York City. The gallery space included a rolling projection of films, sounds of the forest being piped through exterior speakers, a series of special screenings, a photography exhibition, live music, inspiring talks and discussions. In total 12 events were held, including hosting the first ever Joint Indigenous Peoples Statement for the Climate, two Indonesian-themed events, Indigenous Youth Leader’s Event and indigenous organisations hosting discussions and meetings on Lima COP20 plans.
